Volunteering Fair

Volunteering Fair 2017 post event

Nearly 700 University of Portsmouth students attended the Volunteering Fair this year, all keen to get involved in fantastic projects and give back to the local community. We'd like to thank all of the organisations who attended, and everybody who helped make the day such a success!

In the last academic year around 8,000 students at the University of Portsmouth got stuck into volunteering, whether it was via the Students' Union, the Sport & Recreation department, via The Careers and Employability Services Volunteering Bank or for academic credit.

As employers increasingly want to see more than a degree on a graduates CV, you now also need to evidence a strong set of transferable skills relevant to the role you are applying for.

This is why volunteering is just one of the fantastic ways to experience different career paths, develop your skills, gain course related experience and ensure you enter the job market competitively.
