Join our Student Advice Team!

We’re recruiting new members to our Student Advice Team here in Careers and Employability. Starting in September, you’ll be part of a team of students who run our daily drop-in service and support their peers with their CVs and part-time job queries. You’ll also get involved at our career events, and help to inform and create content for our social media pages. So if you want to make an impact during your time at university, apply now through MyCareer

Student StartUp

Did you know you may be eligible to complete a Self-Employed Placement year? Replacing the traditional year in industry, the self-employed year gives you the time and space you need to focus on developing and growing your own business. During the year, you will get support from the Student Startup Team through 1-1s, hands-on workshops and funding opportunities.

Applications for Student StartUp funding are now live! If you have a business or freelancing idea that you’d like to explore further, you can apply for up to £3,000 to support with anything from conducting market research to launching a product or service. Applications close on Sunday 12 May.#

If you are a final year undergraduate student and are interested in securing a graduate-level role in Portsmouth or the surrounding areas then you will be able to register with our free Graduate Recruitment Consultancy service run by university staff. If you are a Masters student, then you need to register here.

The recruitment team is on hand to offer support with interviews and feedback and help source jobs on your behalf. Some of the roles they work with do not get advertised anywhere else!
