Many students now actively look for part time and seasonal employment whilst studying at the University. Students are great recruits, as they are a flexible and willing workforce with availability to work evenings, weekdays or weekends.

Students are also keen to gain part a part-time role related to their course to help them gain relevant work experience.

You can advertise your jobs for free on MyCareer our online Jobs Board.  All you need to do is register on our jobs board, upload your jobs and have students apply directly to you. Once you have registered you can upload multiple jobs as and when you have them, effectively managing your own jobs online.

All registrations and opportunities must comply with our vacancy terms and conditions. We recommend that students work a maximum of 20 hours per week during term time

Employers guide to using MyCareers jobs board

It’s quick and easy to register and post a vacancy on My Career.

1. Registration

Please register your organisations details on to My Career, Students will be able to read your ‘organisation description’ so make it as informative as possible, please note they cannot view contact details associated with the account. 

2. Approving Organisations

We check through organisation registration in line with our terms and conditions before accepting companies on to the board. Once accepted you will receive an email allowing you to set a password, the link expires after 3 hours however please note that the login page of My Career supports setting/resetting passwords.

3. Posting a vacancy

When posting a vacancy you will have two boxes to choose from:

  • Post locally - This is the local service where you can post your vacancies to University of Portsmouth Students and Graduates for free.
  • Employer link - Managed by Targetconnect the Employer Link allows employers to post vacancies to more than one University for a fee. The cost to use Employer Link is an administration fee that goes directly to Targetconnect and University of Portsmouth does not benefit from this service.

4. Approving vacancies

We aim to approve vacancies within two working days however if we have queries about a role approval may take longer.
