I lecture in Public Management, Practice Based Knowledge, Strategic Management and Leading Effective Change as part of the Masters in Public Administration.  I am also part of the teaching team on the LiFE (Learning From Experience) unit which encourages students to find and undertake placements in the workplace.  I am also a tutor for the Placements and Internships Centre, tutoring students who have taken year long placements across the world.  My background is in Local Government as a manager having had fifteen years in public service, during which time I also taught at other Universities in Sussex, developing the Masters in Collaborative Working at the University of Chichester, and co-authoring the New Type of Worker programme at the University of Brighton.  My main focus has been on partnerships and collaborative working and my studies have concentrated on this over the last decade.  I ran an EU project in Romania and Bulgaria, in partnership with the University of Macerata in Italy to bring partnership working training to the emerging democracies in Europe, and I retain a strong interest in partnerships and multi-agency groups in many countries.

My doctoral level research is in public sector partnerships and groups, taking my Masters level research about trust forward into other areas.
