An American Student, Sean started his academic career at San Diego State University where he received a Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice Administration at the age of 19.Following his graduation from SDSU, Sean also received an Associate’s degree in Behavioral Science from San Diego City College and a Masters degree in Criminology from Queens University Belfast before joining the University of Portsmouth team. Since then, besides pursuing a PhD Sean has also received a Masters degree in Social Research Methods as well as a Masters in Forensic Psychology.

His doctoral research focuses on exploring investigative interviewing methods used in the United States with a comparative perspective drawn between states. Furthermore, using recorded suspect interviews Sean is attempting to gain insight into how and why suspect interviews are conducted in the United States and how they differ from the rest of the world.
