In 2011 I graduated from Aberystwyth University with a BSc in Physical Geography and remained at Aberystwyth University to complete the MSc in Glaciology at the Centre for Glaciology.  I joined the University of Portsmouth in 2014 to begin a PhD in glaciation.

My PhD research has a palaeoglaciological focus and concentrates on establishing the timings and dynamics of glaciation in the Wicklow Mountains, Ireland.  The project is supervised by Dr Clare Boston, Dr Harold Lovell and Dr Nick Peppin.

Teaching Responsibilities

I contribute to departmental teaching through assisting computer practical and fieldwork sessions. Units include:

Introduction to Geographical Information Systems (Level 4)
Practical Skills for Physical Geographers (Level 4)
Applied Physical Geography (Level 4)
Environment and Climate Change: Practise (Level 5)
Geographical Research Methodologies, Techniques and Practise (Level 5)
Residential Field Class: Wicklow (Level 5)

I am also the Student representative at the Science Faculty Research Degree Committee.

I realised the extent of my interest in glaciology and palaeoglaciology whilst studying for my undergraduate degree; I am particularly interested in the palaeoglaciology of Britain and Ireland.  Other research interests include: surging glacier structural and geomorphological evolution, ice-shelf dynamics and the application of remote sensing to both glacierised and glaciated environments.
