In 2016 I graduated from the University of Portsmouth with a BSc in Geography and began my MRes course in Glaciology in September 2016.
My MRes research is focused on improving current understanding of the influence of glacier morphology and basal topography on patterns of glacier recession, whilst documenting how these factors have influenced changes in the Canadian Arctic. Research I recognised an interest in glaciology during my undergraduate degree, when undertaking a glacial reconstruction project on a 2 nd year Ireland trip. This led to focussing my dissertation topic on glacier reconstruction and paleoclimate estimation in Hayeswater Valley, Eastern Lake District. My current research comprises analysing and assessing glacier change over a 30 year period, 1974 – 2016, on Ellesmere Island in the Canadian Arctic.
