Department of Psychology

Our high quality research and teaching, cutting edge laboratories, opportunities to work with staff in their research, work placement and study abroad options make us the ideal place to study.

What we offer

  • 4-year sandwich course

If you choose to study BSc (Hons) Psychology or BSc (Hons) Forensic Psychology, we now offer an optional 4-year sandwich course. At the end of your second year you have three choices; you can proceed straight into the final year of your course or choose to undertake either a year abroad with one of our ERASMUS partnership institutions or complete a year-long work placement with an external organisation, before completing the final year of your course.

You could complete a work placement like Caroline, who worked as a Personal Assistant in Care. Skills for Care has lots of information to help you find out more about what it’s like to be a PA and how to find a job. Visit
