I completed my BSc in Psychology and my MSc in Forensic Psychology at the University of Portsmouth. My masters dissertation focussed on the decision making and behaviour of residential burglars, and I have since worked as a research assistant on the ‘Virtual Burglary Project’. I was awarded a PhD bursary in 2016, under the supervision of Dr Claire Nee, Dr Zarah Vernham, and Dr Jean-Louis van Gelder (NSCR, Amsterdam).

My research continues to use virtual reality to study the behaviour and decision making of residential burglars, with a focus on the development of the criminal career over time. I am also looking at how factors such as drug and alcohol misuse impacts on this career path, and how it may impact on the development of offender ‘expertise’.
