I graduated from Bangor University with a BSc in Sport Science, and subsequently completed an MRes in Sport and Exercise Psychology under the supervision of Dr James Hardy. Following this, I moved to America where I worked as an academy football coach and gained qualifications and experience as a performance analyst. I later returned to the UK in 2014 to begin a PhD at the University of Portsmouth alongside working as a business development manager in the sport coaching sector. I then undertook a teaching position at the University of Winchester, where I was the Programme Leader of the BA Sport Business and Marketing degree. I returned to the University of Portsmouth in August 2016 as a Lecturer in Sport Development and Coaching.

Teaching Responsibilities

I contribute to teaching in the area of Sport Management across the undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including Sports Marketing and Sponsorship, Sports Business Principles, and Innovation and Enterprise in Sport. I also contribute in a supervisory capacity to undergraduate and postgraduate projects within the disciplines of Sport Management and Sport Psychology.

I currently pursue two distinct research programmes. The first, and topic of my PhD, addresses the impact of emotions in a leadership context. The second research programme focuses on gender and leadership issues in sport, presently related to underrepresentation of women in coaching.
