Collaborative Specific Credit

Collaborative Specific Credit is defined as being provision leading to an award, or to specific credit towards an award of the University delivered and/or supported and/or assessed through an arrangement with a partner institution.

The University uses the following parameters to identify arrangements as Collaborative Specific Credit partnerships:

  • Amount and type of credit
    • The element offered/supported by the partner will be credit bearing
    • Ten credits at any level is the lowest credit denominator

 Role of partner

The role of the partner will include substantive responsibilities for any or all of the following:

  • learning and teaching
  • assessment
  • coaching
  • academic/pastoral support
  • location and facilities provider

For the approval of new home courses that include Collaborative Specific Credit, the standard approval process for home courses will apply with the additional consideration and approval of the partner institution. When considering the partner at the Faculty Course Approval Committee (FCAC), the same or similar issues and considerations to those for a full collaborative partner approval are likely to apply.
