Collaborative Partners Learning and Teaching Resources

Media_own6The University of Portsmouth is committed to the provision of an excellent student experience and to ensuring that every member of staff working in collaborative partnership with the University has the opportunity to develop their professional knowledge and personal skills.

These pages contain policy documents and guidance on good practice for programme design, delivery, assessment, review and student learning. The information will support and encourage the development and achievement of such skills for Partner Associate Lecturers who are teaching and supporting higher education courses.

Higher Eduation in Further Education (HE in FE)

Further education colleges (FECs) are important providers of higher education (HE) courses. This website is therefore specifically for collaborative partner associate lecturers (PALS) and provides access to information on supporting higher education (HE) in further education colleges (FECs) from bodies including the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE), the Higher Education Academy (HEA), the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) and JISC infoNet.

  1. The Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE)
HEFCE aims to help FECs build on strengths, develop distinctive provision, respond to local demand, develop education and training in higher-level skills, widen participation, and increase the accessibility of HE.

  2. Higher Education Academy (HEA)
The main aim of the HEA’s Higher Education in Further Education (HE in FE) Enhancement Programme is to support further education colleges offering higher education programmes.

  3. Higher Education Academy (HEA) Subject Support
The HEA has a network of discipline-based subject support areas that provide a range of services to subject departments including resources, events and workshops. Many provide specific support for FECs.
