Did you know...

  • Just three-quarters of the UK population report having a religion (Census 2001)
  • In England, 3.1 percent of the population state their religion as Muslim (Census 2001)
  • The census religion question was voluntary, nevertheless, over 92 percent chose to answer it
  • After Christianity, Islam is the most common faith. This is followed by Hindu, Sikh, Jewish and then Buddhist (Census 2001)
  • 16 percent of the UK population state they have no religion (Census 2001)
  • More than 12 faiths are practised by university students
