HR Service Centre

The HR Service Centre is the main point of contact for HR administration for all University staff and Managers, providing advice and guidance and administrative support for all HR policies and procedures.

Casual and PTHP Recruitment



  • Administration of visiting staff positions, recognition awards, the probation process and staff leavers
  • Processing of casual and PTHP appointments and publication of contracts.
  • Processing of casual leavers.
  • Administration of staff leaver forms.
  • Queries relating to the above, through HREnquiries or phone.




  • Administering the recruitment process, including notification emails and confirmation of offer details.
  • Liaison with Marketing and
  • Placing of vacancy adverts.
  • Generating Health Questionnaire (Owned by Occupational Health).
  • Queries relating to the above, through HREnquiries or phone.

New Starters


  • Ensuring the formal offer process is completed satisfactorily.
  • Generation of contract documentation.
  • Recording of information on HR system.
  • Face-to-face meetings with new staff to complete paperwork and deal with terms & conditions queries.
  • Queries relating to the above, through HREnquiries or phone.

Changes & Variations


  • Changes to existing employees’ terms and conditions, including: Increases or decreases in hours, flexible working requests, acting up, secondments, additional roles, regrades and redesignations.
  • Extensions to fixed term contracts.
  • Changes to working patterns.
  • Inclusion or removal of shift enhancements.
  • Queries relating to the above, through HREnquiries or phone.



  • Administration at end of fixed term contracts.
  • Administration of retirements / partial retirements and resignations.
  • Completion of redundancy calculations.
  • Administration of maternity/family friendly processes, including: maternity and paternity leave, shared parental leave, adoption leave.
  • Undertaking of maternity/shared paternity leave meetings.
  • Queries relating to the above, through HREnquiries or phone.
