New Performance and Development Review (PDR) Scheme

The success of the University depends upon its people and that is why it is critical that all staff have meaningful Performance and Development Review (PDR) discussions. The PDR process provides all staff with a valuable opportunity to reflect on their performance and development needs and on how they contribute to the success of the University and helps to address some of the outcomes from the 2017 Staff Survey, relating to how the University manages performance. With this in mind, I am pleased to inform you that our new PDR system is now live.

You can log in to the PDR system via the PDR webpages by clicking on the ‘Launch PDR System’ button. Then click on the ‘Log in with SSO’ button to be taken to the landing page from where you can access your personal PDR Form in the ‘My Reviews’ section. You may, on occasion, be asked to enter your University login and password. You can also access the system from the Staff Essentials word bubble.

There is a wealth of information available on the PDR webpages to support you in completing your PDR and help guide you through the process including:

  • User manuals
  • PDR guidance
  • FAQs
  • Video tutorials on navigation through the system

To ensure that we all understand and engage positively with PDRs, all staff should read the PDR Guidance, the PDR form and refer to the webpages in preparing your PDR. In addition, you are encouraged to make use of the ‘i’ buttons throughout the system for further guidance on how to complete the form.

Every department will have an Expert User familiar with the online system, who should make themselves known to their colleagues, provide relevant support, and escalate issues that cannot be resolved locally. A list of the Expert Users is available on the PDR webpages.
