Delivering Excellence

Delivering Excellence

Delivering Excellence has been specifically designed to empower staff to provide consistently excellent service by developing skills and strategies to really embed 'excellence' as the norm in service practice for the University.

Erasmus+ is a European Commission funded programme that supports staff to undertake teaching and training activities. Academic and Professional Services staff can apply for funding to undertake overseas activities within EU/EEA and Candidate countries (Turkey and FYROM) via the Erasmus+ programme.


Leadership Foundation: Aurora Programme

The Aurora Programme is run by the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education. This programme is run by women for women and draws on successful women from higher education and other sectors as speakers and role models to share their experiences and knowledge about the world of work and career development.


The Springboard Programme

The Springboard Programme is a three month personal and work development programme for women (it is not a management development programme), designed to complement the Aurora Programme and help prepare women, where appropriate, to apply for future Aurora Programmes. It will be delivered by Sarah Robins-Hobden, a licensed Springboard trainer.

Navigator Programme

The Navigator Programme is a three-month work and personal development programme for men (it is not a management development programme. It is the first UK training and development programme that encourages men to examine both their home and work life in order to identify practical and realistic steps to fulfil their own potential. It is developed and licensed by the Springboard Consultancy and is delivered by a licensed Springboard Trainer.

Leader and Manager as Coach

Leader and Manager as Coach

The Leader and Manager as Coach programme provides leaders and managers with additional skills to conduct PDRs in an effective and engaging way, work towards a coaching style of management and be empowered to lead staff to achieve institutional goals and support staff in dealing with change.

Work Shadowing Toolkit

University-Wide Work Shadowing Opportunities

University-Wide Work Shadowing Opportunities provide additional scope for staff to network and shadow other areas of the university within similar or complementary roles. They offer a ‘fact finding’ opportunity and provide both personal & professional development.
