Staff Surveys

The University Executive Board is committed to seeking the views of staff on the quality of their working life, and suggestions by staff on the ways in which the University can change and improve to ensure the continued and successful delivery of the University’s 2020 Strategy.

One of the ways this is achieved is through the staff survey which is run every two years. Staff surveys help senior leadership understand how staff feel about working in the University. Staff surveys also provide an opportunity for staff to gather ideas and work together to improve staff development opportunities, our University environment and, ultimately, the services we provide to students, the community and our partners.

2017 Staff Survey

You can view the 2017 results, a presentation recently given to senior managers 'Survey headline results, key themes, survey recommendations and next steps' as well as survey FAQs on our Staff Surveys intranet pages*

The 2017 Staff Survey ran from 6-27 November and was, again, managed by ORC International.

Following publication of the results, UEB and the other senior leaders, will start work with Faculties and Professional Services to deliver an integrated approach to action planning to address any areas in need of improvement.

UEB also approved a charitable donation of £5 for each completed submission received to be made to the University funds that support students who are experiencing financial difficulty while studying.  2308 responses were received, resulting in a donation of £11,540.
