As home to the Royal Navy, Portsmouth has a long maritime history and the Historic Dockyard houses a collection of world famous historic ships including HMS Victory and HMS Warrior 1860, and the Mary Rose Collection.

There is always lots to see and do in and around the city, you could visit the Victorian seafront at Southsea or enjoy the varied festivals taking place in and around the Common each year, including the live music Victorious Festival and the Southsea Food Festival, which offers food markets, tastings and demonstrations. Gunwharf Quays & Port Solent provide an excellent choice for shopping as well asa plentiful selection of restaurants, bars and pubs with fantastic views across the Solent.

Portsmouth is also home to the Portsmouth Watersports Centre , where you can enjoy activities and courses on kayaking, sailing, windsurfing and many more.
