Internal communication

The Internal Communication team manage communication to staff and students, including the main internal websites and publications below. There are two policies which provide guidance on communicating with staff and students within the University:

Student communication

The student website provides a central platform to communicate to our student body, including advice and support services, latest news and articles and links to Moodle, Google and Myport. We also use google mail and printed material to ensure our students are fully informed.

Staff communication

Staff Essentials

The Staff Essentials pages are designed to provide essential information to help keep staff informed with the latest news and links to policies and procedures, staff services and support networks. The Internal Communications Team are working to improve this page during the course of 2016, incorporating cleaner, clearer information. 

We currently send the all-staff email bulletins on a Friday afternoon which gather up any useful information that staff may wish to know. This allows the most important information to stand out in singular all-staff emails during the week whenever necessary.

Communicator magazine

Until the end of 2015 members of staff received a personal copy of the staff magazine, Communicator, which was produced quarterly. The last issue of the magazine was December 2015. Download the recent editions from the Staff Essentials pages. Communicator was a round up of University-wide news and activities with frequent special features and the Internal Communications Team plan to produce a digital communications update around mid-2016.
