Thesis title: Adoption of Social Responsible Investment amon institutional and retain investors: Evidence from BRIC Countries
Demand for social responsible investment (SRI) has got momentum during last two decades. Total assets under management (AuM) in Europe2011: €6.76 trillion, 2005: €2.7 trillion (EUROSIF, 2012).Representing 150% growth over 6 years, while conventional investment struggled to get any growth during recession period (EOROSIF, 2012)Total asset under management (AuM) in Europe2013: €9.88 trillion, 2011: €6.76 trillion representing 29.15% growth over two years. (Eurosif, 2014).According to MERCER and IFC (2009), the emerging market represents €200 billion of SRI assets and this amount is mainly distributed in Brazil, India and China. However, in comparison with developed countries, the SRI assets under management in emerging markets are still not significant.
The main aim of this research is to identify opportunities, trends, challenges and future of emerging economics (BRIC countries) to integrate SRI with mainstream investment.
