The Relationship Between Ownership Concentration and Firms' Performance: Evidence from MENA region
The research focuses on the Effective of corporate governance in MENA region. This research in particular attempts to contribute to the literature by empirically analyzing the role of of ownership concentration on firms’ performance for a number of companies that are listed in stock markets of MENA Countries. Thus, the economics of most MENA Countries are focused on oil production, where tax plays only a small role in generating revenue for the economy.
Therefore, the objective of this research is to explore if there is any relation between the concentrations of ownership on the firms' performance in this region. In addition, to identify factors those influence the relationship between ownership structure and firms' performance.
This research not only attempts to contribute to the literature by farther investigate this issue in a regionthat has remained rather neglected by empiricists. It also, investigates the role of corporate governance in the stock markets of a region where the economic and institutional features make MENA region a unique and interesting environment to examine.
