I joined Portsmouth Business School in August 2009, following 20 years working as a senior marketing manager and marketing consultant for both blue-chip and SME companies. These included Legal & General, IBM, Edexcel, Monster and the Department of Education.  I have experience of working in marketing communications, marketing strategy, e-commerce development and international marketing management. During the past 9 years I have also taught part-time on the post-graduate level courses for the CIM.

I have a BA Hons (Lancaster) and was the first person to graduate in Marketing and German at Lancaster University in 1987. I also hold a MBA (Manchester Business School) and a PGCE.

Teaching Responsibilities

I am a Principal Lecturer in Marketing and responsible for leading and managing the provision of  post graduate courses, thereby leading the teaching teams, curriculum development and course innovation.

I also manage the promotion to and recruitment of working practitioners on to part-time, and or collaborative programmes.  I liaise with external examiners, accreditation bodies and companies who wish to participate in our courses.

In addition, my teaching areas include consumer behaviour, marketing research, digital marketing and strategic marketing, at undergraduate and Masters level. I also supervise a number of undergraduate and post-graduate students for their dissertations and final projects.

Digital marketing strategy, social media, online communities. I also support the Business School in its external consultancy and have worked on a KTP project to identify new market opportunities for an international power supply company; and a marketing research project focusing on student media.
