Though most graduates go on to professional practice as architects, interior designers and construction professionals, many are successful in other fields such as visual artists, musicians, film production and journalism.

What our alumni say
- Harsh Malhotra
- Studied: BA (Hons) Architecture
- Current job: Architectural Assistant, mayaPRAXIS architects, Bangalore, India
The Architectural program at Portsmouth University became quintessential in addressing my ability towards design. The balance between theoretical and technical teaching helped me in my professional practice. The inquisitive nature of our faculty on future built form of our cities led me to question the current model of our cities. I got the opportunity to work in urban design projects in India. At mayaPRAXIS architects we dealt with improving the pedestrian infrastructure though projects like Pedestrian bridges, mobility design proposals which gave me great satisfaction. These unique projects, along with my education gathered, resulted in a strong portfolio, which got me accepted at 2 prestigious institutions TU DELFT and COLUMBIA University. I am due to pursue a Master in Architecture and Urban Design at Delft and move to Holland soon. Lessons learned at Portsmouth have been invaluable in me reaching where I am today.

- Nick Crowley, ARB
- Studied: Master of Architecture
- Current job: PK Arkitektar (Iceland)
Whilst at Portsmouth I was able to study abroad through the Erasmus programme, spending a year in Paris. Following gradation I worked for BDP and Architecture PLB, switching to the then relatively stable retail sector when the crash hit. I dealt with a wide range of clients from Hollister to Apple and finally for Sainsburys as their in house Architect. Last year we made the jump and moved to Iceland, where I now work at PK Arkitektar in the centre of Reykjavik. Portsmouth to me was a real practice friendly course and gave me through the wide range of philosophies and backgrounds of its tutors the best and broadest understanding of what architecture and being an Architect is about, and helped to give me the confidence to tackle the wide ranging challenges my career has given me.
