I am a teaching fellow in Computing. I have studied astrophysics and philosophy at undergraduate level, and received an MA in Creative Writing and MSc in Software Engineering. Alongside my teaching and lecturing duties, I have also occupied a number of key management roles: Learning Technology and Innovation Manager, Head of Centre for Excellence in Teaching & Learning, and Head of Computing.

Teaching Responsibilities

I am part of the first year programming team, the co-lead of the first year computer architecture unit and the co-lead in a transition programme to develop the higher cognitive skills of incoming computing undergraduates.

My research is broad and is grounded on a new philosophical symbolic grammar developed over a thirty year period which attempts to found the human sciences on an innovative non-numerical mathematical conception. I have published a short philosophical polemic on the future of civilization, Against Capitalist Education.

At present, I am working on my second book and a series of articles to apply and elucidate this novel grammar to a range of issues and problems in the contemporary world.
