I joined the University following a career as a secondary school teacher specialising in Business and Law. Prior to my teaching career, I was a Human Resources Manager for some major Public and Private Sector organisations namely Portsmouth Hospital NHS Trust and Zurich Insurance. Following a brief career as a Direct Marketing Manager for IBM and following the birth of my children, I developed a keen interest in Enterprise and Creativity in the schools’ curriculum. My first role at the University was a project lead on a SEEDA funded project entitled UP for Enterprise.

Teaching Responsibilities

I currently lecture across a variety of courses within the School, namely:

  • Computer Games Enterprise
  • Computer Games Technology
  • Television and Broadcasting

I am responsible for coordinating the following units:

  • Mind Your Own Business (Level 4)
  • Leadership (Level 6)

I lecture on a Level 5 Unit entitled Student Enterprise and am Unit Coordinator for a Unit on the Msc Digital Media entitled Professional Academic and Research Development.

I am the Department representative for Education Liaison and the Ethics Representative on the Ethics Committee.

I am a Project Partner on an EU Project entitled Spreading the Word about Creativity in Education.

I am particularly interested in Creativity and Enterprise and how this maybe embedded across a curriculum whether it be Key Stage 1-4 or FE and HE.

I also have a special interest in Specific Learning Disabilities in particular the Autistic Spectrum and Aspergers.
