Biography

Phil joined the University in 2003 after a career in the Metropolitan Police, which included operational duty, training, Royalty Protection and a secondment to the the Police Staff College. During the secondment he worked with others on the delivery of the training recommendation that emerged from the Stephen Lawrence Inquiry. He holds a Masters Degree in Educational Technology and was awarded a Doctor of Education from Brunel University. He continues to teach both full time and distance learning students in police related topics including counter-terrorism and policing policy and leadership. He currently supervises a number of PhD and Professional Doctorate Students. He was Head of ICJS from 2012 to 2017.
