In November 2016, I was appointed as a Research Fellow in Cardiovascular Mechanics in the School of Engineering at the University of Portsmouth. Prior to my current position, I had been working as a Research Fellow at the Wessex Institute of Technology (2015-2016) and as a Research Assistant at the University of Southampton (2014-2015).
In December 2015, I obtained my PhD (“Coronary artery stent design for challenging disease”) in Computational Engineering from the University of Southampton, after a three-year candidacy in the Computational Engineering & Design Group. Earlier in 2010, I received my MSc in Biomedical Engineering from Brunel University London.
My main research interests are focused in computational (e.g., FE, CFD, etc) and experimental methods (e.g., rapid prototypes, etc) investigating: i) the haemodynamics along with the arterial wall mechanics of the human cardiovascular system and, ii) ways of optimising (via surrogate modelling and stochastic optimisation) interventional procedures, such as PCI (percutaneous coronary intervention) and AVF (arterio-venous fistula).
