I am an experienced adult nurse and clinical academic. My clinical roles have involved working in a number of settings including working as a specialist nurse within an integrated COPD team, which included the delivery of Pulmonary Rehabilitation and assessing patients holistically for their suitability for participation. I have also worked for a community trust as a senior community practitioner for a rapid response team which cared for acutely unwell people in the community who were at a high risk of admission.
I have also had clinical roles in an acute trust as a clinical educator on the neurosciences wards, as a nurse on a hyper acute stroke unit, where I was actively involved in research, and in the accident and emergency department.
I am actively involved in research. My research interests are mostly in long-term condition self-management and the role of personal networks of support. My current research looks at engagement with online self-management resources for those living with a long-term condition.
