I registered as a children’s nurse in 2012 and began working on a clinical academic doctorate with the University of Southampton looking at the issue of hospital-acquired skin breakdown in neonatal units, due to be completed in spring 2018. During my PhD I have worked with clinicians, educators, and lead nurses from the Wessex and Thames Valley Neonatal Network, which has proven invaluable in helping me to develop research that will be clinically useful within the context of neonatal care.

I am a lecturer on the Adult Nursing course and am currently teaching on the Foundations of Nursing Knowledge unit. My research interests include prevention of healthcare-acquired skin damage, the implementation of change in healthcare settings, and post-registration education for nursing staff. I am also interested in research looking at collaborations between healthcare and social care agencies.
