I am part of the Learning Development team for the School of Languages and Area Studies, providing support in writing development and study skills. I have taught study skills in HE and FE, working in a wide range of subject areas.  Having trained as a performer and obtaining a PhD in historical musicology, I am interested in gender and creativity, and how these relate to the writing process. I also direct a small arts production organisation called Contemporary Connections which aims to commission new sound works related to musicological research. Our upcoming Arts Council funded project Portsea Soundscapes, which commissions a sound art work based on local people’s experiences of living in a maritime city, will take place in July-October 2017.
